Praia da Angra do Cozinhadouro is located on the coastal strip of the municipality of Odemira, within the protected landscape of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. It is situated in a small natural cove, facing the vast Atlantic Ocean, and is embraced on its sides by imposing rock formations and cliffs characteristic of this coast.
Upon visiting Angra do Cozinhadouro, the beach presents a mixed composition. Although you may find some areas with sand, the ground is predominantly covered by pebbles and shingle. This particularity gives the beach a distinct texture and appearance, differentiating it from more typical fine-sand beaches.
This beach stands out for maintaining a natural and tranquil environment, generally being uncrowded. Access is usually via a dirt track that crosses the surrounding rural landscape. The final descent to the sandy area, down the cliff, is steep and requires some attention, which contributes to its more isolated and wild atmosphere.
