Ferreira do Alentejo, Beja District.
The square is a wooded, rectangular area located in the historic center of the town of Ferreira do Alentejo, near the Igreja Matriz (Main Church).
In the middle of the square, there is a monument dedicated to Infante Passanha, consisting of a bronze bust placed on a pyramidal pedestal. The Portuguese pavement that surrounds it further enhances the space.
This square is one of the oldest in the town, originally known as the "rossio da vila" (town square). For many years, it was the political and religious heart of the locality, with the Igreja Matriz (Main Church) and the Town Hall located in its vicinity.
From that time onwards, the town underwent a major transformation, with the construction of mansions by the main families of the region, especially near the square.
Near the square, there used to be the Chapel of Santo António and the Church of the Espírito Santo, the latter having been demolished in the past.
