Located next to the Santa Clara Dam, in the municipality of Odemira, Alentejo, Portugal.
Offers a stunning view of the Mira River valley.
The building mainly follows the lines of modernist architecture, providing a contemporary environment.
The first plans for the building emerged in 1961, initially intended to house technicians during the construction of the dam. After the dam's completion, the property was converted into a "pousada" (historic hotel), inaugurated in 1969.
Over the years, it underwent expansions and renovations to improve its facilities. In 1994, expansion works coordinated by the architect Correa Guedes began, resulting in nineteen rooms.
The "pousada" became managed by the Pestana Group and ceased to be classified as a "pousada", becoming a hotel during a reorganization process in the 2000s and 2010s.
Due to its proximity to the Santa Clara Dam, guests can enjoy activities such as sport fishing and boat trips.
Located in the heart of nature, it provides a peaceful and relaxing environment, ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.
The hotel offers traditional dishes from the Alentejo region, highlighting the authentic flavors of local cuisine.
The Pousada de Santa Clara is an option for those seeking rural tourism experiences, allowing visitors to explore the culture, landscape, and traditions of the region.
