Two Ancient Monuments

Here, you will find two ancient monuments made of schist stones, called Dólmen do Sítio das Antas and Dólmen das Pedras Tanchadas.

Ancient Origin

These monuments are part of an ancient period called "megalithic," which occurred between the 5th millennium and the middle of the 2nd millennium BC, and spans from the Middle Neolithic to the Bronze Age.

Dólmen do Sítio das Antas

This monument has an oval chamber with stones that marked the shape of the chamber. Some of these stones have fallen over time and may have been used as roofing.

Dólmen das Pedras Tanchadas

This monument has an oval chamber with five pillars smaller than the previous one.
