- Located in Terreiro de Santo António, in the heart of the historic village of Alvito, Portugal.
- Religious monument in Mannerist style with an original configuration.
- Longitudinal plan with a single nave and two side chapels.
- Discreet exterior, but stunning interior with a Mannerist altarpiece ornamented with gilded wood carvings.
- The altarpiece is divided into three parts, depicting scenes of Saint Anthony in the lower and central parts, and the Holy Trinity at the top.
- Highlights include paintings on the vault of the chancel in the proto-Baroque style and blue and white tiles with albarradas manufactured at the end of the 17th century.
- Near the entrance portal, a pavement inscription dates back to 1646, mentioning James Jeronimo Corea de Miranda, a native of Vila Real and son of a apothecary physician.
- Built in the early 1640s, originally planned as part of a convent dedicated to Saint Anthony, which was never completed.
- In the early 18th century, tiles and mural paintings were added.
- Underwent restoration work in 1986 carried out by the parish.
- In 2008, a study and preservation program of the religious heritage of the municipality of Alvito was initiated, aiming at the conservation of the Church of Saint Anthony.
- The church was classified as a monument of public interest in 2012 due to its historical and cultural value, both aesthetic and religious.
- In January 2020, the church hosted a New Year's concert by the Orquestra Típica Albicastrense.
