Praia do Areão is located in the town of Gafanha da Boa Hora, in the municipality of Vagos, positioned a few kilometers south of Praia da Vagueira. This sandy stretch stands out for its privileged location, situated between the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean and the tranquility of the Mira Canal, an arm of the Ria de Aveiro that ends nearby. The beach is embraced and protected by an extensive and imposing dune cord, which separates it from agricultural fields and the Ria itself, giving it a naturally preserved and secluded environment.
Characterized by a well-preserved and elevated dune system, Praia do Areão offers an interesting ecosystem for nature lovers.
