With an impressive 57 meters in length, this mural is a ceramic creation that materializes an illustration by the Aveiro artist Fatinha Ramos. To bring this work to life, over 5000 tiles were produced. Each of these was painted with manual techniques and colors carefully developed to capture the sensations and reliefs imagined by the creator, revealing the expertise of the artisans involved.

The Theme and Symbolism

This urban artwork is known as Reflections and its central concept explores the interlinkage between the salt pans and the Ria de Aveiro. The mural also evokes a submerged and imaginary world, where human figures and fantastic creatures are found in the depths of the Ria. Thus, the panel is a vibrant visual representation of Aveiro's identity and its intrinsic relationship with the aquatic landscape.
