The fountain is situated in the heart of the Pêga urbanization, in Aveiro, integrated into the Jardim Infante D. Pedro. This green space extends alongside residential streets, offering a tranquil retreat just a few minutes from the historic center.
The surroundings are characterized by pedestrian paths lined with cork oaks and lime trees, creating a shaded route to the fountain. Its slightly elevated position allows for a serene perspective over the adjacent lake.
Built of light-colored stone, the fountain features a simple yet elegant design, with an upper basin finished with soft mouldings. Water flows from the central spout into a small semicircular basin, reminiscent of traditional public fountains.
The structure retains marks of natural erosion and some green patina on its base, lending it a discreet charm and historical authenticity. There are no exaggerated ornaments, but rather sober lines that fit into the garden's landscape.
In front of the fountain lies a shallow lake, where ducks and fish swim, adding life to the scene. The banks, covered with dry leaves and dotted with small wildflowers, create a pleasant atmosphere, especially in the late afternoons.
Some stone benches scattered beneath the plane trees invite a pause to observe the movement of the water and the local fauna. It is an ideal space to enjoy moments of tranquility and contemplate the harmony between the fountain's architecture and the surrounding nature.
