The Serra da Ribeirinha Park is located in the Serra da Ribeirinha area, in the parish of the same name, belonging to the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo. This natural area rises to the south, strategically positioned to offer a comprehensive perspective of its surroundings. Its proximity to the city of Angra do Heroísmo makes it an accessible point for those seeking contact with nature without significant travel.

Geological Origin:

This natural space is an integral part of one of the oldest and most significant volcanic complexes on Terceira Island. The Serra da Ribeirinha is the result of an imposing and already dismantled stratovolcano, whose vast caldera today forms one of the island's largest plains. The steeper slopes of this mountain range face the interior of this ancient caldera, giving the landscape a particular configuration, marked by the geological forces that shaped it over time.

Panoramic Views and Trails:

At the highest point of the Serra da Ribeirinha, at an altitude of about 410 meters, a vast panorama is revealed. It is possible to appreciate the extent of the Ribeirinha parish, as well as the iconic Ilhéu das Cabras (Goats Islet). Further in the distance, the view reaches the silhouette of the city of Angra do Heroísmo and the imposing Monte Brasil. The area, characterized by vast pastures and occasionally dotted with small lagoons, invites pedestrian walks, with trails that present an accessible degree of difficulty, allowing an immersion in the tranquility of the natural environment.
