Located in the parish of Matriz, in the city of Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, Azores, Portugal.

History

, Successor to the old Ermida de São Brás (Hermitage of Saint Blaise), which was located where the Ponta Delgada Fortress now stands.

, The current chapel was rebuilt in 1584, on the original Rua da Fonte Grande and Rua Direita (now Machado dos Santos).

, It is also dedicated to Santa Luzia (Saint Lucy), with a chapel in her honor.

, Historical documents indicate that in 1674, there were three chapels in this hermitage: São Brás (Saint Blaise), Santa Luzia (Saint Lucy), and Nossa Senhora dos Anjos (Our Lady of the Angels).

, In 1696, the vicar Simão da Costa Resende noted the need for repairs to the choir, doors, and churchyard of the chapel.
