Situated in the locality of Agualva, within the municipality of Praia da Vitória, the Terceira Island Golf Club is nestled in the island's verdant interior. Its elevated position, approximately 350 meters above sea level, provides a rich natural environment, characterized by gentle slopes and the serene presence of small lakes.

Landscape and Botany

The golf course is distinguished by its remarkable integration into Terceira's natural landscape. It is a place where the course's architecture blends with the exuberance of local flora, creating a scene of great beauty and serenity. Along the fairways, a wide diversity of plant species can be observed.

The extensive rows of cryptomeria trees that line a large part of the holes, planted in great numbers in the early 1980s, stand out, lending the course a unique and striking visual identity. The beauty is further enhanced by the presence of hydrangeas and azaleas, whose vibrant colors punctuate the dominant green, especially during the blooming months, offering a singular chromatic spectacle.

The Playing Course

With an 18-hole, Par 72 course, the Terceira Island Golf Club offers an interesting challenge for players of different skill levels. The course design takes advantage of the natural orography of the terrain, with water hazards and slopes that test the player's strategy and precision.

The presence of multiple starting points (tees) on each hole allows for game adaptation, making it accessible and stimulating simultaneously. Each section of the course presents distinct characteristics, from long par-5 holes to shorter, but equally demanding, par-3s, where water is an element to consider in the approach. The surrounding tall pine trees and the quiet environment contribute to an immersive and enjoyable playing experience.
