Situated in the parish of Cedros, in the municipality of Horta, Faial island. It is located in the Ribeira Funda area, at an altitude of about 310 to 320 meters.
It is possible to get there by car via paved road. The final access may include a short pedestrian path.
It is a wooden post mill, characteristic of the traditional type found in Faial.
It is deactivated. It is no longer in operation, currently serving as an element of heritage and cultural interest.
The pedestal is built of stone and mortar and remains visible. The remaining parts such as the body, cap, and sails are no longer visible or have not been preserved.
It is referenced in old maps, such as the 1969 Military Map. It no longer appears on more recent maps, indicating possible abandonment or loss of prominence over time.
This type of windmill was used for grinding cereals, harnessing the power of the wind. The rotating structure allowed the upper part to be oriented towards the wind.
