It is located on Rua D. David Dias Pimentel, nº 32, in the parish of Algarvia, in the municipality of Nordeste, on the island of São Miguel, Azores, Portugal.
Currently, this house is used as a rural tourism unit called "Casa de Campo Algarvia".
The house was built in the second half of the 19th century and belonged to Dr. João Cabral, a local doctor.
This house is a remarkable example of civil architecture in the parish, combining neoclassical influences of the time with rural features.
In addition to the main house, there are also annexes located at the back of the property, built in exposed stone, one of which is called "arribana".
The "arribana" features a simple, elegant, and aesthetically pleasing architecture, suited to its purpose.
This building is mentioned in the book "Arquitectura popular dos Açores" (Popular Architecture of the Azores).
The complex includes pens and stone walls that follow the same architectural style as the other buildings.
Unfortunately, the building complex is in a poor state of conservation and needs urgent intervention.
According to Regional Decree No. 13/79/A, of August 16, the complex formed by the house and all annexes has been classified as of Municipal Interest since 2002.
