This space is managed by the Association of Parents and Friends of the Disabled of the Island of Faial (APADIF). APADIF was established in 1993 with a clear purpose of facilitating the recovery and integration of individuals with special educational needs, seeking to offer fundamental support to their families.

Since 2002, the association has been recognized as a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, demonstrating its long-lasting social commitment. ATL Arco-Íris, in particular, is dedicated to the socio-intellectual and psychomotor development of children between the ages of 3 and 10, serving as a pillar of support and growth for the island's youngest residents.

Educational Legacy
