Location

Cais 2 is situated in Pinhão, directly on the banks of the Douro River. Its position offers an immediate perspective of the watercourse and the movement of boats. This location is within the most central area of the locality, serving as a riverside landmark that traverses the Douro landscape.

Riverine Environment

At this quay, the proximity to the Douro is evident. The atmosphere is marked by the serenity of the waters and, at times, by the gentle sounds of the vessels passing by. It is a spot where one can feel the living presence of the river, observing its continuous flow and its interaction with riverside life up close.

Vineyard Panorama

From Cais 2, a striking view unfolds over the slopes that embrace the Douro. It is possible to contemplate the terraced vineyards that shape the landscape classified as a World Heritage site. The breadth of the panorama allows for a calm observation of the fusion between the green of the plantations and the blue of the river, creating a scenario deeply rooted in the region's identity.

Legacy and Contemplation

This quay is one of the points that historically connected the region's production with river transport. It represents a physical link to a past where the river was the main route for the outflow of products, particularly Port wine. Today, Cais 2 invites contemplation, a space to simply observe the scenery, the passage of time, and the immensity of the Douro valley.
