Situated in the village of Montalegre, the park stretches along the bank of the Cávado river. It is located in a low and open area, with lawns and aligned trees that follow the course of the water, creating a green corridor within the urban fabric.

The pedestrian paths follow the river line and connect several clearings and resting areas. The presence of water marks the landscape and offers wide views for those walking by the riverside.

The Cávado riverbed here presents a gentle slope, with small weirs and stone embankments forming tiers. On the banks, there are steps and platforms that allow safe access to the water. On hot days, some aquatic vegetation is frequently observed on the surface, signaling the shallow depth in this section of the river.
