Situated on the Costa da Caparica, in the municipality of Almada, Praia da Cornélia stretches along the vast sandy strip that follows the Atlantic, forming one of the quieter stretches of the coast. Access is via a sandy path that crosses small dunes, preserving the feeling of isolation and direct contact with nature. Its proximity to Lisbon allows visitors to enjoy an authentic coastal environment just a few kilometers from the urban pace.

The Atlantic breeze is a constant presence, providing coolness during the warmer months. At the end of the afternoon, the sunset paints the horizon with orange hues, being one of the most appreciated moments by those who spend the day there.
Known for its peaceful atmosphere, Praia da Cornélia is sought after by those who prefer less crowded spaces. Even during the peak bathing season, the extensive sand allows for a sense of privacy. It is common to see families, surfers, and walkers sharing the space calmly.
The beach is supervised during the summer and has some seasonal support structures. Although parking is limited and access may involve crossing small dunes, the effort is rewarded by the serenity of the location and the quality of the natural landscape.
It is part of the Costa da Caparica beach system, an area where coastal dynamics play a fundamental role in the formation of dunes and the constant remodeling of the sandy area. Besides the natural aspect, the beach also has a connection to the Xávega art, a traditional artisanal fishing technique that can still be observed on some days when the boats return with fresh fish.
