The House of Cubes is located in Tomar, in the area designated as Quinta do Lima, situated at the entrance to the city's historic center. Its privileged location establishes direct contact with the local urban environment, providing an immersion in the dynamics of Tomar's life.
Once an edifice without great architectural distinction, the House of Cubes underwent a profound and remarkable transformation. The rehabilitation intervention preserved the original exterior structure of the building, but its interior was completely renovated and gutted to accommodate an audacious spatial conception. This singular project resulted in an environment where the pre-existing "shell" envelops a new interior body, redesigned with an intriguing form and the use of contrasting materials. The interaction between historical legacy and contemporary innovation defines its unique aesthetic, inviting discovery and contemplation.
Currently, the House of Cubes constitutes a pole of cultural vitality in Tomar. Following its rehabilitation, the building was designed to host various exhibitions and other cultural events, actively contributing to the city's artistic dynamism. Its current vocation, particularly in the field of photographic study and exhibition, consolidates it as a space dedicated to culture and art, available for those who wish to explore new perspectives.
