Monastery of Saint Augustine of Serra do Pilar

Walking back along the Cais da Estiva.The church of the former monastery Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar, on the Gaia side of the Ponte de Dom Luíz I.The rest of the monastery was turned into military barracks and had fortifications added. It was requisitioned by Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley, the future Duke of Wellington, during the Peninsular war.
