This mill complex is nestled in a valley, embraced by the landscape of Serra da Boneca and the Mau River Valley, part of a village where agricultural tradition and granite houses define the atmosphere.

Heritage and Ingenuity

The Cabroelo Mills constitute a core of patrimonial value, a testament to the region's ancient milling activity. Each mill, built of robust granite, exhibits the simplicity and resilience of traditional construction. The vital element of this complex is water, channeled through ingenious paths, known locally as regos fureiros, which distribute the flow to turn the millstones, revealing the ancestral ingenuity of local communities.

The site is marked by the predominance of exuberant flora, including chestnut groves, and the constant presence of the soft sounds of flowing water, which runs through the channels, and birdsong. This environment provides a peaceful retreat, ideal for those seeking tranquility and a genuine connection with nature.

Care and Originality

One of the highlights is a peculiar swing, which, although not for swinging, invites contemplation of the landscape, integrating harmoniously into the surroundings.
