Madalena do Mar Beach is located in the eponymous village, Madalena do Mar, in the municipality of Ponta do Sol. It is situated in the Moledos area, on the western coast of Madeira Island. This cove is characterized by its unique location, flanked by imposing rocky cliffs that shape the surrounding landscape. A promenade runs along the edge, ideal for seaside strolls, providing direct and pleasant access to the beach.
This beach features a mixed composition of pebbles and black sand, which gives it a distinct look. Its waters are often crystal clear and maintain a mild temperature throughout the year. The waves are typically gentle, creating a tranquil and inviting environment. To facilitate entry into the sea, there is an access jetty, complemented by two ramps connecting the promenade to the bathing area.
To ensure the comfort of its users, Madalena do Mar Beach offers sanitary facilities and changing rooms. An extensive deck solarium, approximately 700 square meters, provides a privileged space for sunbathing. For the younger ones, a small playground is available, and for those seeking a more dynamic activity, there is a volleyball court. During the bathing season, bathers' safety is ensured by the presence of lifeguards. The beach's quality is further recognized by its Blue Flag distinction.
