The origins of the Vitória/Santa Rita Parish date back to a decree by D. David de Sousa, then Bishop of Funchal, who established it on November 24, 1960. Its parochial activities began on January 1, 1961, initially using the Capela da Vitória as its headquarters, a space with its own history that served as the foundation for the new community.

Devotion and Traditions

This temple is a central point of devotion to Saint Rita of Cascia, the patron saint of the community.
