The Civic Centre is situated in the heart of the locality of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, a vibrant area of the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, on the island of Madeira. It is located in the Pico and Salões area, in a central position within the community, close to the Mother Church. A Cultural and Community Hub

Inaugurated in 2004, the Civic Centre was conceived to be a fundamental space in the sociocultural life of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos. Over the years, it has consolidated itself as a meeting point and a catalyst for activity, responding to the cultural and social needs of the population. Its creation reflects the ambition to foster the community's relationship with various artistic and social expressions.

Architecture and Versatility

The building stands out for its modern architecture, with a design that incorporates materials chosen for their integration into the environment. One of the particularities of its construction lies in the use of thermally modified wood for the facade cladding, giving it a unique aesthetic and demonstrating a concern for sustainability. Inside, the Civic Centre houses an auditorium with a capacity for approximately 170 people, suitable for hosting concerts, plays, and conferences. It also features rooms prepared for exhibitions and a library, enriching its cultural and educational offerings and making it a highly versatile space.
