The Cais da Praia is located in Machico, in the area known as Pé da Ladeira. It extends over the waters of the bay, marking one of the extremes of the town's waterfront. Its position offers broad views of the ocean and the coastline. On one side, the urban edge of Machico; on the other, the opening to the vast blue.
This pier, integrated into the port area of Machico, invites a stroll along the waterfront. It is a place where one can observe the stillness of the boats, which sway gently with the swell, creating a tranquil maritime atmosphere. The structure extends into the water, allowing for immersion in the bay's environment and a sense of proximity to the sea.
From the Cais da Praia, a panorama of the natural beauty that surrounds Machico opens up. Looking east, the landscape is dominated by Ponta de São Lourenço, with its rugged coastline and distinct colours. Offshore, the view can reach the Desertas Islands, which emerge from the Atlantic. Inland, the green slopes of the mountains frame the bay, forming a natural setting that invites observation and tranquility.
