Located in Parque Mayer, in the Santo António neighborhood, Lisbon.
Inaugurated on July 10, 1931, it was designed by architect Luís Cristino da Silva. It is one of the main works of "First Modernism" in Portugal.
After a major renovation, it reopened in November 2016. The space now has 400 seated places and can accommodate up to 1,500 people standing.
Classified as Property of Public Interest since 1983 and received the Valmor and Municipal Architecture Award in 2016.
The theater is a multipurpose space, serving as a cinema, performance hall, and music hall. It has hosted concerts, plays, and film screenings throughout its history.
It has hosted performances of famous plays, such as “A Severa” and “A Canção de Lisboa”, and films like “Stromboli” with Ingrid Bergman.
After the April 25th Revolution, it began showing erotic films, attracting a large audience.
In the 1980s, the space of the skating rink was transformed into a discotheque called "Roller Magic".
The renovation cost between 8.5 and 10 million euros and was supervised by architect Alberto Souza Oliveira. The space is now dedicated to music, humor and cinema.
The building is characterized by its parallelepiped shape and large glass facade. The interior features a basement and robust concrete structure.
Since 2017, the promoter Sons em Trânsito has taken care of the theater's programming, focusing on music, humor and cinema.
