Praia do Vale dos Frades is located in the municipality of Lourinhã, integrated into the parish of Lourinhã e Atalaia, more specifically in the locality of Vale dos Frades. This Atlantic cove is situated north of Praia da Areia Branca. Viewed from the top of its cliffs, the surrounding rural landscape presents a distinct pattern created by agricultural fields, resembling a patchwork quilt that picturesquely frames the coastline.
This beach is characterized by its more untouched nature and a generally tranquil environment. It features an expanse of sand that stretches out, although punctuated by the presence of rocks and stones in various sections, which contributes to its natural and wild character. Not being a supervised beach, it offers an atmosphere of greater privacy and a more authentic contact with the coastline, appealing to those seeking coastal serenity.
Praia do Vale dos Frades is particularly appreciated by those who dedicate themselves to underwater activities. Its waters are sought after by practitioners of diving and underwater fishing. This suggests the existence of a rich marine environment and conditions that favor the exploration of rocky seabeds and local aquatic life, inviting a more immersive experience with the ocean.
