Location

Maria Brown Park is located in the city of Lisbon, within a residential urban area characterised by apartment buildings and quiet streets. Set within a small green space between local roads, it offers a pleasant contrast between vegetation and the surrounding architecture.

The area around the park is mainly residential and features pedestrian paths and open spaces. Mature trees and landscaped areas create a calm atmosphere, providing shade and comfort for those passing through or spending a few moments in the park.

Atmosphere and landscape

The park has a simple and welcoming character, with lawns, medium sized trees and pedestrian paths paved in traditional Portuguese stone. The vegetation forms shaded areas that make the space comfortable throughout the day, especially during warmer periods.

Among the trees there are small garden beds and green areas that reinforce the natural character of the park. For much of the year, colourful foliage and flowering shrubs add visual variety to the landscape, creating a pleasant setting for a short outdoor pause.

Rest area

Wooden benches are placed along the shaded areas of the park, providing spots designed for rest and quiet observation. These areas allow visitors to enjoy the surroundings while watching the gentle movement of the neighbourhood.

Public lighting contributes to the sense of safety and highlights the simple layout of the park, which includes walking paths, small green corners and open areas that invite visitors to spend some time outdoors.

Urban character

Maria Brown Park integrates naturally into the surrounding urban landscape, acting as a small green refuge among residential buildings. The contrast between the stone pavement, grass areas and trees creates a balanced blend of nature and city.

The layout prioritises pedestrian circulation and quiet relaxation, with open spaces that allow visitors to appreciate the vegetation and the natural light filtering through the tree canopies. This balance makes the park a simple yet pleasant feature within Lisbon’s urban environment.
