In 2015, the Campo Pequeno Museum was reopened, combining pieces from the old museum and the Grupo Tauromáquico Sector 1, along with notable donations.
The museum aims to preserve the memory of Portuguese bullfighting and promote bullfighting culture in general, making it accessible to the general public.
Since its inauguration in June 2015, the museum has received more than 11,000 visitors from 94 countries, including French, Portuguese, German, Brazilian, Italian, and Spanish visitors, as well as visitors from unexpected places such as Iraq, Uganda, and New Zealand.
Located in the iconic Campo Pequeno Bullring, the museum highlights not only bullfighting but also the historical and social events that have taken place in this centuries-old building.
The Campo Pequeno Museum houses approximately 1000 pieces that tell the history of bullfighting, including posters, photographs, documents, sculptures, bullfighting utensils, paintings, and bullfighting costumes. The collection comes from the old Campo Pequeno Museum and Grupo Tauromáquico Setor 1.
This is a highly anticipated location for bullfighting enthusiasts, as it promotes the preservation of bullfighting culture and the memory of the Campo Pequeno Bullring.
The Campo Pequeno Museum aims to create a space dedicated to Portuguese bullfighting and the history of Campo Pequeno. It seeks to promote bullfighting culture, making it accessible to the public, and to revitalize Campo Pequeno as a cultural and leisure space.
