The Cadaval House Museum occupies the lower part of the Municipal Library building, in the heart of the village of Cadaval. It is surrounded by typical houses and pedestrian areas that confer a tranquil atmosphere.
The urban surroundings allow for the combination of a visit to this cultural space with a stroll through the surrounding streets, where traditional facades blend with small green spaces.
Inaugurated in 2002 and reorganized in 2015, the museum was designed to reveal the evolution of the Cadaval territory from the earliest periods to the contemporary era. Its mission is to preserve and make known the local heritage through archaeological, historical, and ethnographic collections.
This space serves as a point of research and dissemination, promoting contact with the collective memory of the municipality and valuing the relationships between past and present.
The exhibition route presents, in an accessible way, diverse thematic areas: Paleontology (with dinosaur remains), Archaeology (ceramic fragments and ancient instruments), and elements of cultural heritage. The labels appear in Portuguese and English, facilitating reading for those who do not fully master the language.
The rooms have careful lighting and well-organized display cases, creating a welcoming atmosphere that invites discovery. The arrangement of the objects and explanatory panels makes the visit fluid and informative.
