Situated next to the village of Coimbrão, in the municipality of Leiria, Praia do Vigão stretches along the Atlantic coast, between Praia da Vieira and Pedrógão. It is set within an area of dunes and pine forest, right in the heart of the Mata Nacional do Pedrógão (Pedrógão National Forest), offering a natural and isolated setting, marked by the constant sound of the sea and the absence of urban construction.

Access is via dirt tracks, crossing areas of dune vegetation. Parking is limited and the terrain is uneven, which reinforces the wild and tranquil character of the location. Despite the isolation, GNR (National Republican Guard) patrols are commonly found in the area.

Praia do Vigão is distinguished by its extensive stretch of golden sand, which extends for over a kilometer, bordered by dunes covered in low-lying vegetation. The sea is open and strong, typical of the Atlantic coast, forming a vast landscape where the horizon seems infinite.
