Located at the highest point of Ateanha, where a medieval tower once stood as part of Coimbra's defense.
It was the old main church of the Parish of São Martinho da Ateanha and a point of passage for pilgrims.
It features a porch that served as shelter for pilgrims, a lowered triumphal arch, and a wooden ceiling. Outside, there is the baptismal font and the pulpit in stonework with balustrade and access stairs.
Inside, a 15th-century image of Saint Martin of Tours, the chapel's patron saint, stands out.
The road is not suitable for large vehicles, and it is recommended to walk to better enjoy the landscape and the historical environment of the area.
