Located in the historical center of Trancoso, in the parish of Santa Maria, municipality of Trancoso, district of Guarda.
Built in 1510 after the granting of the charter by D. Manuel I. Trancoso received previous charters from D. Afonso Henriques, D. Afonso II and D. João I.
Manueline monument with a faceted shaft on four steps and a cage with small columns. The summit is conical with an armillary sphere.
Declared a National Monument in 1910.
