Quinta da Tartaruga is located in Sandomil, a village nestled on the slopes of Serra da Estrela, in the municipality of Seia. Situated in a setting of remarkable natural beauty, the estate benefits from a tranquil, rural environment. Its position offers expansive views of the surrounding landscape, marked by dense vegetation and the proximity of the Alva River, which meanders through the region. This environment provides an atmosphere of serenity, typical of mountain villages, where the pace of life is calmer, and one can enjoy the pure air and quietude.
The heart of Quinta da Tartaruga is a space that highlights the importance of water and the life that develops within it. There is a body of water, such as a lake or pond, which serves as the central element of the place. This body of water, well integrated into the landscape, is the habitat of several turtles, which gave the quinta its name. The presence of these animals, moving peacefully or basking in the sun on the banks, contributes to an atmosphere of calm and invites careful observation of natural dynamics.
More than just a geographical point, Quinta da Tartaruga reveals itself as a space of particular beauty and peace. The surrounding vegetation, harmonizing with the natural landscape of the Serra da Estrela region, gives it a picturesque appearance. The gentle sound of water and the chirping of birds complement the tranquility of the environment, creating a natural refuge. The quinta is an invitation to contemplation, where one can feel a deeper connection with nature and with the slow pace that turtles symbolize.
