The Paço de Melo is a classified historical building.
Its existence may date back to the 13th/14th centuries, when the 1st Lord of Melo returned from Jerusalem.
During the Napoleonic Invasions in the 19th century, it served as a refuge and residence for the Bishop of Guarda.
Despite being in ruins, the Paço de Melo maintains its grandeur.
There is a staircase that leads to the noble floor and the old chapel of Nossa Senhora da Paz (Our Lady of Peace).
The chapel, now in ruins, and the bell tower with a granite spire are points of interest.
The building features a mixture of architectural elements from various eras, including merlons on the wall.
The main façade is simple, with doors and windows in arches, and the bell tower has minimalist decorative motifs.
