It existed at least since 1582, being mentioned by Monsignor Pinheiro Marques.
It was located in Lameira, in a place known as S. Pedro Velho.
At the end of the 16th century, it was decided to move it closer to the village, choosing the Torre area, where the cemetery atrium is located today.
In 1879, the cemetery was built behind the chapel, which led to its demolition and relocation.
It was moved first to the southwest side of the cemetery and, later, to its current location.
For many years, it served as a mortuary chapel.
