The Monte Bicho Tower Clock is located in the locality of Maragota, in the municipality of Olhão, situated within the residential area of Monte Bicho. Its presence is notable in an area that, at first glance, appears less touristy, inviting visitors to discover a unique point of interest outside the more common Algarve routes.
This tower, with its distinctive clock, began construction in February 2007. It is the result of an artistic and personal vision by Marco Conceição, who conceived it as a work that transcends time, blending the past and present through its form and symbolism.
Its creation is inspired by various aspects of Portuguese culture and history, ranging from popular legends and sayings to ancient superstitions and crucial moments of national memory. The project also incorporates a collection of art objects and antiques, elements that enrich the tower with a cultural and narrative dimension.
The Monte Bicho Tower Clock stands out for its unique aesthetics and the unusual atmosphere that surrounds it. More than a simple time-teller, its singular design imbues it with a sense of curiosity and even mystery, making it a point of fascination for those who observe it.
The tower is notable for its architectural originality and the intricate details that compose it, inviting careful observation and a moment of reflection on creativity. Its distinct presence in the local landscape awakens imagination and the appreciation of unconventional artistic expressions.
