Moncarapacho is an ancient parish located in the municipality of Olhão, in the district of Faro, in Portugal. With an area of 75.19 km², it has a population density of approximately 102.6 inhabitants per km².
Moncarapacho was merged into the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuseta as part of the administrative reorganization in 2012/2013.

There are several theories about the origin of the name Moncarapacho, such as:
, Derivation from Monte do Carapacho (Shell Mountain), due to the sea view that resembled a shell.
, Derivation from Monte Escarpado (Steep Mountain), referring to a high and steep part of Cerro de São Miguel.
, Associated with Monte dos Capachos (Esparto Grass Mountain), due to a lady who sold esparto grass mats and lived in Cerro de São Miguel.
The folkloric ranch of Moncarapacho was founded in 1963 and, throughout its 49 years of existence, has been dedicated to the preservation of traditional dances, music, and costumes of the region. They have participated in national and international festivals, in countries such as France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Morocco, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, and Sardinia.
