Fountain of Giraldo Square

Named after the 12th century Portuguese outlaw who who joined with the forces of King Afonso Henriques in his battles against the Moors, this is the central square of Evora. Lying on the ground next to the 16th century fountain is a fragment of an ancient Roman statue.
