Praxis is located in Quinta da Várzea, an area integrated into the urban fabric of the city of Coimbra. This area, although part of the urban center, is characterized by an environment that seeks a balance between urban development and the presence of spaces suggesting a transition to more open areas. It is a reference point within the municipality of Coimbra, positioned in an area that establishes connections between various parts of the city.
Praxis plays a central role in the recovery and valorization of Coimbra's brewing heritage. Within its premises, the dedication to beer production is evident, highlighted by the remarkable initiative to recreate historical brands from the region, such as Topázio and Onyx. These beers, with a history spanning more than a century and having profoundly marked the city's memory, are brought back to life by Praxis, contributing to the preservation of a significant part of Coimbra's industrial and cultural identity.
Inaugurated in 2007, Praxis has established itself as a brewery dedicated to the art of producing beer. In addition to production, its complex includes a beer museum, inviting visitors to explore the history and richness of this tradition in Coimbra. This space represents the continuity of a legacy spanning over a century, honoring the beer factories that shaped part of local history until the late 1980s.
