The Espaço Mente Museum is located in Montoiro, in the municipality of Miranda do Corvo, integrated into the natural landscape of the Serra da Lousã. The surroundings are marked by a tranquil environment, where the proximity of the mountains lends the space an atmosphere of recollection and reflection. Situated within the Biological Park, it is surrounded by green areas and paths that invite contemplation of nature.
This museum presents itself as an ethnographic ecomuseum, designed to stimulate reflection on the human condition, starting from the idea of balance between body, mind, and spirit. Its narrative traverses different dimensions of life, from biology to spirituality, bringing together pieces, symbols, and objects that encourage critical thinking and introspection.
Inside, a diversity of elements can be found, from everyday objects collected from the local community to pieces related to natural and human sciences. Visitors can observe, for example, preserved animals in glass jars, such as snakes and other examples of fauna, which help illustrate the connection between nature and human experience.
In addition, the museum includes elements related to anthropology, history, arts, and crafts, allowing for a comprehensive reading of the region's cultural and social journey. Each room leads to an experience that combines scientific knowledge with a more symbolic and philosophical dimension.
The space was designed to be more than a simple exhibition of objects. The museum's organization invites contemplation, learning, and dialogue between different areas of knowledge. Some areas, such as the planetarium, allow visitors to travel through the cosmos and understand the relationship between humans and the universe.
The atmosphere blends science, culture, and philosophy, creating a setting that stimulates both curiosity and personal reflection. The museum thus fits into a broader proposal that values freedom of thought, cultural diversity, and the intimate connection between humanity and nature.
