Located in the center of Braga, this palace is an old manor house with over 300 years of history.
Classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1949, it preserves the architecture and atmosphere of the Portuguese nobility from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
Built in the 17th century, it was the residence of a noble family and underwent several renovations over the centuries. In the 20th century, it was acquired to become a museum.
The building is divided into two floors. On the ground floor were the service areas, such as the kitchen and stables. On the upper floor, there are halls and chambers, decorated with tiles, gilded carvings and painted ceilings.
One of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Portugal, with fountains, sculptures, geometric flowerbeds and a tulip tree from Virginia that is almost 300 years old.
Opened in 1978, it presents a collection of furniture, goldware, ceramics, textiles and musical instruments that show the daily life of the aristocracy of the time.
In 2023, it received more than 54,000 visitors. The space has invested in the conservation and improvement of accessibility.
