Located at the top of Santinha hill, it offers a wide and stunning view over the town of Amares and the Cávado valley.
It is a calm and ideal space for moments of reflection, prayer, or simply to appreciate the surrounding peace and nature.
The place was already considered sacred since ancient times. In the 18th century, it was known for a mysterious pillar, possibly used for religious worship.
The construction of the chapel began at the beginning of the 20th century, but it was abandoned for decades. It was finally completed and inaugurated in 1960, thanks to the effort of the local community.
Every year, on the second weekend of July, the feast in honor of Our Lady of Peace is held, which is very well attended by the population.
There is a picnic area, cafe/restaurant, and good road access, with parking available.
