Located in the parish of Murtosa, municipality of Murtosa, district of Aveiro, in Portugal.
The property dates back to the 17th century, when it belonged to Captain Manuel Henriques de Morais and his wife, Joana de Oliveira. Later, it passed to the Velloso da Cruz family and, later, to Frederico de Clamouse Brown Van-Zeller. Currently, it is owned by Augusto Mariano Van-Zeller de Carvalho Ricca, resident in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Quinta da Caneira has about 10 hectares, making it the largest agricultural property in the municipality.
It is considered a Property of Municipal Interest, according to Law No. 107/2001, of September 8th.
On the facade of the house, it is possible to observe the coat of arms of the Velloso da Cruz family.
