Praia do Torrão do Lameiro, also known as Marretas, is located in the town of Torrão do Lameiro, in the municipality of Ovar. It is set within a natural and tranquil environment, characterized by an extensive pine forest and a well-preserved dune system, which stretches along the coast.
This beach stands out for its vast stretch of fine sands, extending for approximately 3 kilometers, inviting long walks. The dune system, rich in coastal vegetation, forms a natural barrier that protects the untouched beauty of the place. The presence of a bordering pine forest contributes to a serene environment and a sense of remoteness, offering a refuge for those seeking peace.
The sea at Praia do Torrão do Lameiro is often rough, making it a point of interest for water sports enthusiasts such as surf and bodyboard. In addition to its natural features, this beach is one of the few places where Arte Xávega can still be observed. This is an ancestral artisanal fishing technique, which involves launching and retrieving nets from the boat to the sand, bearing witness to a living part of the local maritime culture.
