It is located in the current parish of Águeda e Borralha, in the municipality of Águeda, district of Aveiro, in Portugal.
It is considered a Property of Public Interest, according to Decree No. 23,122 of October 11, 1933.
The original pillory was located near a fountain at the fork of the road to Giesteira. In 1950, it was already without the capital. In 1993, it was accidentally knocked down and stored by the Parish Council. Later, it was under the custody of the municipal services and is now erected at the entrance of the Parish Council. Other fragments were found at the house of Mr. Urbano Sucena.
In March 1999, the lower section of the shaft was found, buried near a fountain. It is a piece in Manueline style made of Ançã stone.
The pillory would have had two steps and was topped by a small iron flag. Currently, only the round shaft remains, which differs from the octagonal shape mentioned in the "Classified Heritage" record of IGESPAR. The record also mentions the presence of a parallelepiped plinth and a capital decorated with the national coat of arms.
