Property of Public Interest since 1933.

Current condition

Only fragments of the original pillory are known, preserved in the Museum of Sacred Art of Aveiro.

Built in limestone.

Characteristics

, Octagonal shaft with a sculpted figure, associated with the goddess of wisdom.

, Quadrangular capital with five quinas engraved on one face and heraldic shields on two others.

, Octagonal top, topped by a crown.

Dimensions

It measured about 3.60 meters in height.

Importance

It represents a symbol of autonomy and local justice in the era it was erected.
