The Ribeiras Leisure Park is located in the Ribeiras area, in the locality of Lobão, belonging to the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira. The space is set in a natural valley, extending between the villages of Fiães and Lobão, lending it a serene environment and a landscape framed by natural elements.

Its position within this valley offers visitors a tranquil, easily accessible area, harmoniously integrated into the region's landscape, inviting moments of quietude and observation.

Biodiversity and Natural Characterization

With an approximate area of six hectares, the Ribeiras Leisure Park is notable for its ecological richness. The site is a fusion of diverse natural systems, encompassing wetlands, terrestrial areas, and a vast floodplain. It is distinguished by the prominent presence of extensive alder and willow groves, which constitute a characteristic and visually appealing marshy ecosystem.

This diversity of habitats makes the park a refuge for a high number of plant and animal species, providing an opportunity to observe riparian fauna and flora up close, in an environment of conservation and respect for biodiversity.

Pathways and Nature Observation

The park offers a network of pedestrian pathways totaling about two kilometers, designed to allow visitors a peaceful and immersive exploration. These trails accompany the riparian ecosystems, many of which are classified with protected status, highlighting the importance of conserving the ecological corridor.

By walking the paths, it is possible to follow and observe the annual transformation cycles of the landscape, appreciating the dynamic and harmonious balance between natural conditions and how the space has been shaped for human coexistence.

Inclusive Design and Leisure Areas

The design of Ribeiras Leisure Park reflects a strong concern for inclusion and accessibility for all. The design of the pathways seeks to remove barriers, ensuring that the space can be enjoyed by citizens with different levels of mobility.

With the diversity of visitors in mind, the park integrates a senior fitness park and a boccia court. These facilities were adapted to be accessible to people with limited mobility, promoting the practice of physical activities and social interaction for all ages, in a context of fellowship and direct contact with nature.
