Location

Carvalhas Park is located in the Marco urbanization, in the parish of São Pedro de Castelões, in the municipality of Vale de Cambra. Surrounded by an urban fabric of single-family homes and the municipal road, the space offers a green respite close to the town center.

Its slightly elevated position allows for glimpses of the surrounding vegetation and some points of the village, creating a serene counterpoint to the traffic and movement of neighboring residential areas.

Natural Environment

Dominated by centuries-old oak trees and other indigenous species, the park maintains a tree canopy that filters sunlight and cools the air in warmer months. The undergrowth consists of shrubs and sparse grass, typical of oak forest clearings.

The pedestrian paths, marked by partial traditional cobblestone paving, invite tranquil strolls, where one can observe small birds and the play of shadows on the ground, a result of the trees' dense canopies.

Heritage and Leisure

Scattered across the lawn are stone tables and benches, ideal for those wishing to have an outdoor snack, in a simple yet welcoming setting. These limestone elements stand out for their robustness and integration into the landscape, hinting at the region's rural origins.

Despite its simplicity, the place lends itself to moments of informal gathering, reading, or contemplation, offering an experience of direct contact with nature without extensive support structures, which gives it an authentic and discreet character.
