The park is situated in the northern part of Águeda, on a gentle slope that invites a tranquil stroll. Surrounded by residential streets and small agricultural fields, it offers a serene perspective of the surrounding landscape.
The presence of tall trees in the vicinity and paths that follow the natural terrain provide scattered views of the city, allowing observation of the houses to the south and the hills that border the Águeda River.
This space was born as a community project to address risky behaviors among young people, involving residents in the recovery of a previously degraded area. Local involvement was essential, with initiatives for planting, maintenance, and cultural activities.
Today, the park reflects this collective effort: each trail and green corner results from volunteer actions and partnerships between the Vale Domingos Cultural Association and Águeda's schools, reinforcing the sense of belonging.
Among the more than one hundred species of magnolia and several specimens of Japanese maple, a small lake where koi carp swim stands out, accompanied by a set of stone tables for moments of rest. The gently defined paths invite contemplation of botanical details.
The park also features a contemporary playground and outdoor fitness equipment, discreetly integrated into the landscape. The combination of exotic vegetation and social spaces makes this garden a place to relax, read, or share conversation in a naturally welcoming environment.
