The Palacete da Boa Vista is located in Albergaria-a-Velha, a town in the district of Aveiro. It is specifically situated in Praça Rainha D. Teresa, a central area of the town, within the grounds of the extensive Quinta da Boa Vista. Its position provides a setting that combines urban centrality with the serenity of a more expansive space.
This imposing mansion was built at the end of the 19th century, at the initiative of João Patrício Álvares Ferreira. Its construction was entrusted to the architect Joaquim António Vieira, who designed a building that stood out at the time. At that time, it was considered one of the most sumptuous and notable constructions in the entire district of Aveiro, reflecting the vision and status of its original owner.
The architecture of Palacete da Boa Vista is a testament to the style and opulence of the late 19th century. Among its most interesting elements are the paintings adorning one of its rooms, completed in 1910. These works, from Domingos Costa's studio in Lisbon, represent the "Four Seasons", offering a glimpse into the artistic and decorative sensibility of the era.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the Palacete da Boa Vista was acquired by the Municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha, undergoing a revitalization process. This intervention primarily aimed to preserve the original facades and all elements of historical and patrimonial value, while adapting the interior for a new purpose. The transformation allowed the mansion to continue to be a landmark in the town, maintaining its integrity and cultural relevance.
